Grand Lake Branding Team Community Meeting Update: 4/17/14

- Donna Ready of Mountain Lake Properties has generously committed $1600 to build and installation costs
- The Town Board has committed to the difference in cost
- Bill Swartz allowed us to use his photos and license for the images as well contracted the
professional graphic designer at no cost.

3. Logo Contest
A) Why do we need a new logo?
- Logo has many ‘roles’ to play in regards to the visual identity of Grand Lake.
- In many instances a logo is the first thing that someone thinks of when they hear Grand Lake. - For example, when you hear the name Coca-Cola, Apple what comes to mind
- End users see over a thousand brands in just one day, especially now with social media, anywhere the eye can see, there's likely to be a logo/brand
B) Creating this logo our goal was to:
- Provide a visual expression to be used with or without our new Brand Promise
- To Create Brand Identify
- Giving and adding personality to Grand Lake
- Creating a unique and valuable asset for Grand Lake businesses to use
- New logo also makes it easier for consumers to identify us
C) Launched Logo Contest Feb 24 - Mar 24
1) Requirements / Elements
2) Turn Out
-During the 30days we had 14 different entries
- 8 local entries including 2 from children
- 1 entry from Loveland
- 2 entries out of state
- 2 from Germany
3) Picking the winner
- Feasibility Test to help pick
- Meet all requirements
- Winner was Karissa Fagnon, from Winter Park
